I had a root canal this past Monday and have been in pain every since. It's the worst throbbing pain I've had in my mouth and I had another root canal months ago and never had this issue. I am not quite sure what is going on and my dentist is out of town til Tuesday night so I am just sucking it up. Just doesn't feel right! So......... for now Advil is my best friend. 4 every 4-5 hours keeps the pain bearable.

hey, not to worry you, but i had that exact same problem. My dentist actually went to far with the root and into the gum, hence all the pain. call me if you want
435-512-4935. also the pain stays for like 2 weeks or more, and the only way to fix it is to go back through the tooth, or along the gum line, cut your bone, scrape out whatever infection, and resill the bottom of the roots. SUCKS!!
