Friday Night - Good-Bye Dessert Party

So... Friday night we had a going away dessert night for Shelley and Anne. We invited some friends over and had delicious cookie sundaes. It's sad seeing them getting ready to go but have been lucky to get a great new roommate Kisa this week. Here are a few pictures... It's Time For The Girls To Move ..... SAD

So... this week/ weekend has been so busy with dinners and parties to say good bye to Shelley and Anne! Wednesday night a group of us went out to dinner in Friendship Heights to Maggiano's. A few of our good friends were going to be out of town this weekend so we had a little celebration .... it was so good and so much dang fun! I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard.... thanks to Millie really! LOL

Roomate Runs

One of the things I love most about my roommates is that they all enjoy going for runs! This keeps me motivated and gives me someone to run with 99% of the time. It also challenges me to pick up the pace sometimes!

Lots On My Mind This Week

So..... this week I found out some sad news. I have the most amazing family friends back home in fact I often call them my 2nd family. When I've been home in the past and gone over to visit I have met a wonderful family... The Eppersons. I found out a few months ago that he had been diagnosed with cancer. I've been able to keep up on how he was doing through his website.( www.caringbridge.org/visit/robepperson ) I didn't know them very well but I could see from the few times I was around them how much he loved his wife and 5 kids. He passed away 2 days ago.

So many memories come back from my dads illness as I have read his website and seen pictures of him. His wife Patti is the most faithful person. As I have read her journal entries every couple days it's amazing to see the faith she has in the Lord and his plan for her family. I love this message that someone left for her..." You will never be alone. The Savior, Jesus Christ suffered the very pain you feel now. He will hold and carry you until you can stand on your own two feet. May His Peace be with you now and always."

When my dad passed away it was then that I realized I wasn't alone. That my Savior suffered the same pain I felt and continue to feel in my life. I hope and pray that Patti and her kids continue to feel the love of our Savior and know that they are never alone. It is so hard right now and the burden seems so heavy she is having to carry. My heart breaks for their family as they are dealing with the loss of Rob. As they have been on my mind the last couple of days I have had so many vivid memories of my dad and his illness. It truly is a wonderful thing that we have the knowledge and gift of eternal families and I hope and pray that they can find some comfort at this time. May Patti and her family be blessed with peace and comfort at this time!

Am I Living A Balanced Life???

So today my home teacher came over and gave a lesson on Living a Balanced Life. He asked me if I felt I was living a balanced life? Just wanted to put the question out there for others. I have been thinking about it all day and when I finally decide what I think I will write more. The article is in the February 2008 Ensign.
Here is a small quote from the article......

Mens Cologne

When I worked at Nordstrom a girl I worked with was sampling mens cologne to buy for her husband. She came over with a sample of this and oh my goodness! Every guy should own this cologne. It is amazing! There is nothing better then good smelling men! It is called PRADA MAN!
