PF CHANGS ROCK N ROLL MARATHON PICTURES

So....Back in January I finished my first marathon. Probably one of the most amazing feelings in the world. Nothing is more fulfilling then accomplishing something you have thought about and wanted for so long! During the race they take pictures of you and then after the race they send you a link to buy pictures. It's a huge rip-off is all I have to say. So tonight I discovered how to put the pictures on my blog and I am so excited. This marathon was one of the best moments of my life!

It's Been A Great Week So Far

So... Monday was such a great day! Even though the weather was terrible! I watched my little friend Olivia Monday morning and she was too precious. I picked Sam up from school and took him to little Maria's house for a little while. When I was talking to his mom on the phone in walks Sam all dressed up followed by Maria. I was laughing b/c they were so stinking cute!

Sam went home not long after and it was just Maria and I. I had gum in my mouth which turned into an afternoon of me blowing bubbles and her trying to pop them. It was pretty funny .... until she slapped me in the face. : ).

That night I went home and had the pleasure of having the sister missionaries over to visit with me. I had the best discussion with them about the the plan of salvation, book of mormon, missionary work, faith, etc. They truely are amazing and left me wanting to do better in so many aspects of my life. I wish I would have gotten to know them sooner.

After the sisters left Rachel and I were off for a run! I was so glad it stopped raining and that we were able to go. We only did a little over 3.5 miles but it was late and it was better then nothing. I love crawling into bed at night knowing I got my run in!

Today started off just as great! I had Olivia (16 months) again this morning and we went to her music class that is extremely cheesy but she loves it and dances all over the place. We went to lunch at Chipotle and ran a few errands. She is the funniest little girl and has been in the best mood the last couple days... making my day "wonderful". Took a great nap which is always ideal. We headed over to play with Maria around 3 pm and Olivia got picked up by her mama not long after that. Leaving me to play with Maria and we headed to the park to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. A great low key day!

Rachel thought today was Baskin Robbins $.31 a scoop day. So we had planned on a run ending up there. Megan txt me tonight saying it was tomorrow night. So...I txt her back saying, " Rachel is Dead". Then a while later I get a txt from her saying it's Ben and Jerry's " free ice cream cone day". So... we planned to go there instead. Rachel called me on my way home to tell me that Megan took my first txt literally and thought Rachel was dead. So I get home and Megan proceeds to tell me she really thought Rachel was dead. Rachel and I were laughing hysterically b/c who would actually believe a txt that says someone died???? Only our sweet little innocent, gullable, lovable Megan! So .... the free ice cream ended at 8 and it was 7pm so the girls wanted to drive. I told them no way we had to run.... knowing we would be cutting it very close. So we headed out on a 5+ mile run to Old Town to Ben and Jerry's. Maybe a little farther then they wanted to go but hey they survived. So the best part is we get to the place and as i walk up he says....sorry ma'am their the last in line. It was 7: 54pm. He said they wouldn't let anyone else in line b/c they closed at 8pm and the line was already too long. We told him we just ran a long ways for this ice cream and of course he didn't care. So he gave us coupons for a free ice cream cone any other time. We were so mad. Horrible Luck I might say. So we walked about 20 minutes to the King Street Metro and metroed home. Ate a healthy dinner and watched American Idol.

Here we are with our "prized" free ice cream cone coupons! : )

I HAVE TO DO THESE THINGS

Here is a small list of the things I must do in the next few weeks.....

Bengies Drive In .... Baltimore
Paddle Boats.....Tidal Basin DC
Night Bike Tour of Monuments.....DC
Picnic at Airplane Park....Virginia
Day Trip .... NYC
Rent Bike....Georgetown
Camping (again)......I hope to do this

These are all things I have been meaning to do for the last few years I have lived here. I'm amazed at how fast time has gone and now that it's down to the wire I have to fit these things in. The weather has been beautiful here and I can't wait!

Oh..... I dyed my hair dark again....I Love it!

Camping In Virginia

So this weekend a few friends and I decided to do an overnight camping trip about an hour outside DC. We hiked in about a mile and camped for the night. It was a lot of fun. I had googled campfire dinners and desserts and found a lot of great things to try out. So we had great tinfoil dinners, then peach cobbler and banana boats for dessert. Breakfast in the morning was also made in tinfoil in the fire. I was actually impressed with how it all turned out. We hung out around the campfire, woke up nice and early thanks to the most annoying birds ever, and just enjoyed the outdoors. It was so hot though. I was sweating in the middle of the night. That doesn't happen in the Northwest. Even at 7:30 in the morning it was hot. Oh... they even had port o potties up there since it was a state park. I'm not a huge fan nof squatting in the woods. : ) I've been wanting to go camping since I moved out here and am so glad I got to go atleast once before i move.

So.... my little brother Colt safely made it home from Iraq today. He's been there since last June. He called my mom fron Anchorage, Alaska to say they left Iraq a few days ago flew to Germany and then to the states. He is now back at Camp Pendleton in San Diego. Must be so great for him to be home. He gets to fly home to Washington in a few days where he gets to be on leave for a few weeks. I can't wait to go home and see him! I am so proud of him! Marines are the best (in honor of Dolty Colty)!

Fun Trip To Pennsylvania

Intercourse, PA
Buggies
Hershey Chocolate World
Pier in Harrisburg, PA

So.... this weekend my friend Tom and I decided to take a trip to Amish country in Intercourse, Pennsylvania. We headed out nice and early and it was fun to see how the Amish live. Pulling into town we stopped at the bank where an Amish family came walking out. As we drove behind the bank we saw the man and his son climbing into their horse and buggy that was tied up behind the bank. Driving down the road you see horse and buggies on the side of the road. Very funny to see. We only stayed there for a little while. We did take a buggy ride into the countryside with a young lady named Elsie driving our buggy. She was very open and willing to answer any question we had. Interesting to learn about their way of life. We got to stop at a house where we had the opportunity to buy fresh made lemonade or root beer. I had learned from my roommates to not have it b/c they prepare it differently. I neglected to share that with Tom who gladly ordered a root beer. I told him before he got it and he tried it and pretty much felt the way my roommates did. Pretty funny! After the buggy ride we decided we had gotten the just of Amish Country and decided to head to Hershey, PA. We went to the Hershey Chocolate Factory and drove all around the town. Ate a great lunch at some little restaurant and then decided to head to Harrisburg, PA. When we got into the town we realized there was an Obama Rally at 6:30 pm and thought it could be fun to see the guy. So... we wasted time walking on the water and crossing over to some little island that has batting cages, arcades, baseball fields, etc. I suck at batting cages is all I have to say. Then we headed to the Capital to see Obama. We didn't realize it didn't start until 8 pm. So an hour of standing there bored and tired we decided to throw in the town and head to the car. Spent a little more time walking the trail by the water and then we walked by the Capital again... I could hear Obama speaking but couldn't really see him. Oh well....! We headed back home after a long day of seeing Pennsylvania. It was a fun day! Beautiful Weather! Another trip to cross off my list!

So Many Things To DO

So tonight I sat down and made a list of all the things I need to do before I move. It's way too long and I don't have a ton of time considering most of my weekends are filling up! It's overwhelming how many things need to get done in order for me to move in a month or so! I have furniture to sell, make sure my car is ok for the drive (if i decide to keep it), find a job in az, place to live, see all the places on my list on the east coast still, pack up, sell more stuff, get organized, sell more stuff. It's not too bad I just feel a little overwhelmed and sad about leaving a place that has been so good to me! I am going to miss it here!
