Thursday Night!!!!

So Shelley invited me to go to dinner with her and some new friends. The "plan" was to go to dinner and go to a club to hear a band. We went to dinner and then met up with some of his friends.... One who drives a very old cadillac that he had turned into a convertible. Sounds fun right? Well.... try being a girl with long hair and having to drive atleast a half hour to the venue for the concert. At this point it's cold outside and my hair is out of control. We get there.. hear the band... and leave around midnight. I had to work early the next morning and was dreading the drive home. So... back into the convertible. Shelley and I were cuddled up with a blanket over us ... freezing. I couldn't see anything the whole drive home b/c my hair was covering my face the entire time. It was pretty hilarious. I think I got home at 2 am and had to take 20 minutes to painfully brush the 5 million knots out of my hair. Needless to say getting up Friday morning SUCKED! However... the cadillac was a sweet ride and it was a fun night!

They had a grocery store for the kids to play at and they asked me to ring them up. Let's just say maybe I need to work at a grocery store. I was pretty good. I couldn't close my check out line the kids just kept lining up! I was there forever!

Last week was Fall Break for kids in school. So I had both little girls I nanny all day. My sisters kids had Thursday and Friday off so we decided to meet at the Phoenix Childrens Museum for the day. Here are a few pics!

What A Weekend!!!

I know the pic is dark but these guys are actually on unicycles. I've never seen guys on unicycles on hiking trails. Crazy!!!

Friday night Shelley and I headed up to South Mountain Park and went hiking/running on the trails. Then we headed to a movie with some friends. Saturday was an amazing day getting to hear both sessions of conference and getting my run in. That night Shelley and I got ready and headed to Scottsdale to dinner at "Sauce" and to walk around the mall. Then we headed to an amazing Gelato place on the way home. Sunday was another great day with hearing both sessions of conference. Got to meet some new people at a little waffle get together at someones house. Then to my sisters for the second half of conference and dinner with her family. Overall a very uplifting spiritual weekend. Arizona is slowly growing on me! : )

Meet Helga

Well... I pretty much hate my job but this little girl is so stinkin cute! Everyday she gets to be more fun. When I walk in the door in the morning she runs to give me big loves. Then proceeds to do all the things I've taught her... woof like a dog, cry like a baby wah! wah! , stick out her tongue, point to her nose, etc. I think you get the point.

ps... my nose looks huge in this picture ( lol )

Hike/ Walk

Tonight I got off work and decided to take a little hike/walk. There are supposedly lots of trails and places to go behind our apartment so I thought I would explore. Plus I've had lots on my mind lately and thought it would be a nice way to clear my head and think some things through! Saw some cool cactus and lots of critters (yuck)!

This past week I had the opportunity to go back to DC and run The Ragnar Relay with some friends. The Ragnar Relay is 183 miles from Cumberland, MD to Washington DC. We had 6 guys and 6 girls on our team. Each person ran 3 legs ranging from 2 to 9 miles. You really get no sleep, drive a lot, and wait a lot for your leg to start. I was pretty excited to be done with my last leg of 6.5 miles. The day of I swore I wouldn't do another one but now that it's been a few days Im thinking Ragnar Relay Del Sol here in Arizona in February is sounding kind of fun! I like a good challenge!
